My Hometown, Camarines Sur

I was born in Camarines Sur and I remember some of my childhood memories associated with that place where I grew up with my deceased Grandmother. We called her "Lola Taba" and reminiscing that place made me miss her so much. I was five years old when my family decided to leave our hometown but a big part of my heart stayed there. During summer or holidays, we still visit there.

I miss my Lola and some of my childhood friends. I guess it's true that there's really no place like home. Whenever we visit there, I enjoyed delicious food and fresh vegetables that you can never get easily when you're living in the busy streets of the city. I admire the fresh air and the peaceful sound of waves and people's laughter and never-ending stories about their simple lives. Life is so simple and yet days passed by so fast when we're there. These are some of my photos taken when I stayed there for two weeks. I've had a lot of fun taking shots. What I really like about having a vacation is that there's no internet connection that can disturb my peace of mind... I really appreciated conversations with my family and the beauty of the things around me. I also had time to go for walks with the kids and find sea shells during low-tides. We had fun despite the hot rays of the sun. We chased eagles off shore and played some outdoor games. There's also a nearby river and during weekends or free time, we prepare packed lunch and go for a swim. Adults bring the laundry so they could wash off clothes as the children take a swim.

On our way home, adults will climb on top of tall coconut trees and we will all eat the meat and drink fresh coconut juice. I really missed having a vacation in my hometown. These past few months we're still in the middle of a pandemic and we're all hoping that everything will be okay soon. I miss my relatives and friends too. I remember some days when I will sit beside the shore and enjoy the peace and quiet that the sound of nature brings. While staying on the sea shore, I collected some random photos of what it looks like at no specific time of the day. The view of Mt. Isarog at the right side of the shore. I took this photo at exactly 6PM, when the sun is setting down. I also miss celebrating fiesta in the barrios. We celebrate Fiesta to honor our patron St. Antonio de Padua in the month of June. These are some of the things I look forward during my vacation on summer and holidays. Having a rest and some peaceful time on the country-side is a wonderful experience.
