Casita Ysabel

We're still in a middle of this pandemic and I'm still really hoping that everything will be better soon. We still need to stay at home and protect ourselves from the risk of having the virus. But tbh I really miss travelling to other different places and unwind from all the stress. Yesterday, I scrolled through my phone gallery and saw these photos taken during our family vacation in Casita Ysabel, Batangas.

I want to share some of the highlights of our family getaway because today is a throwback Thursday and besides, I really miss those moments. Looking back, I'm still grateful to experience it. We only have weekends to enjoy this vacation and the moment we had the long drive, the rain started to pour but Idk, I enjoyed the long drives with the cold weather while listening to music and looking outside (it's like having the time of my life in my own music video) Aside from that, me and my sister are having fun at the backseat. We traveled for almost 6 hours from manila because we also had some lunch somewhere in the middle of nowhere, we stopped by in a near Mang Inasal and had a few good laughs. It's already 2pm when we finally arrived at Casita, Ysabel. When I saw the resort, I noticed that there are only few people and it's soooo quiet. There are no internet connection (but it's okay because I had a book and besides, we have a radio and our own internet) I always bring books whenever I travel. First, because I need that when things get awkward (just like phones) and second, I really love to read. The book I had with me is The Diary of a Young girl: Anne Frank. I read a good excerpt that says: "I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains." The place have a bit of "Bali, Indonesia" vibes and the people are friendly too. They had two dogs, one of them was named button and I forgot the name of the second. I'm afraid of dogs but I don't hate them either. So, basically I love them as long as they're not trying to hurt me. Button likes to swim though and I think it's kind of cute. When we got there, I ate pansit and drink an orange juice prepared by the caretakers of the resort. After that, I went to the clear, cold sea where there's a lot of small fishes and we also waited for the sunset. There's a separate pools for each cottages so when the night falls, we had a good swim, a laughter and some snacks (perks of not having internet connection)

I think that place is also suitable for group reunions, water therapy or recollections. When you're just trying to enjoy the nature and forget about the world even for few days. It's a place for solitude because there are no other activities except for kayaking. Before we had our dinner or lunch, the caretaker would ask if we have a menu suggestion because the market takes a few hours from the resort and they had to buy first all the necessary ingredients. (I think it's kind of hassle for them) anyway, we had our squash soup and some seafoods. Staying at Casita Ysabel, I have enjoyed the time and I've appreciated the small things like good conversations with my family, relaxing sound of waves, meeting kind strangers and enjoying my own solitude. I wish things will go back to normal soon and people could appreciate the essence of the nature even more.
