Daily Dose of Chick flicks

Imagine, you're curled up on a couch for a night, scrolling through Netflix, you have your snacks, a girl's night in or even a wine. These past few days, my hopeless romantic self is so hooked up on some romantic comedy films with amazing female leads and I decided to make a list of chick flick movies that will surely make your girl's night in perfect. So without further adieu, here's my list:

.) Serendipity (2001) - There's something interesting about romantic holiday movies. I watched this film on Christmas eve, the story revolves around a fateful meeting of two strangers who felt interested on each other on a cold New Year's eve. They decided to separate, convinced that one day they'd end up together if the fate wants them to be together. If you believe in Destiny, give this movie a try. "When love feels like magic, it is called destiny; when destiny has a sense of humor, it is serendipity."

.) 50 First Dates (2004)- one of the funniest romantic comedy film I've watched, starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. Since I saw their movie, 'Blended" I came through another romantic comedy film. The movie is about a man named Henry who fell in love on a girl whom he met on an island. The thing is that... the girl has a short-term memory loss so every night all memory of her day is erased. He meets her each day, from her perspective always for the first time.

.) The Devil Wears Prada (2006)- The story tells about Andrea, a recent college graduate whose dream is to become a journalist until she lands a job working as an assistant for a famous and demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine. A story about overcoming struggles with a combination of funny and sophisticated characters that will give you an insight to the world of fashion industry. You will surely love and hate Miranda Priestly at the same time.

.) Legally Blonde (2001)- Elle woods is a spirit animal. She would definitely do everything to get what she want even into entering the Harvard Law School. If you want a movie inspired by personal growth, friendship, overcoming heartbreak and self love, you should watch this and learn how to bend and snap!

.) Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009)- Who wouldn't love to go to shopping? Rebecca Bloomwood is totally a fan of it. Unfortunately, she shops so much that she's drowning in debt. She lands a job as a financial journalist in New York City and nurture her shopping addiction until she fall in love in a wealthy entrepreneur that completely changed her perspective.

.) Mean Girls (2004)- Cady Heron was educated in Africa by her scientist parents. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, she finally gets to experience the public school. She easily befriends "The Plastics" an  A-list girl clique at her new school. Until she makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of alpha Plastic, Regina George.

.) Clueless (1995)- The story revolves around a fun- loving, rich high school student in Beverly Hills named Cher Horowitz. Besides her iconic styles and famous reputation, She must survive the ups and downs of adolescent life. Her external demeanor at first seems superficial, but rather it hides her wit, charm, and intelligence which help her to deal with relationships, friends, family, school, and the all-important teenage social life.

.) Princess Diaries (2001)- This is a teen comedy story based on a book series written by Meg Cabot. As much as I love reading, I decided to watch the movie because I also like Anne Hathaway. It revolves around a teenager in New York named Amelia "Mia" Thermopolis. Her lifestyle completely changed as she discovered her real identity as a heir to a throne on a small European principality called Genovia. This is a story about her adolescent life and her struggles of learning the ways in becoming a princess.

.) The Notebook (2004)- Based on the Novel written by Nicholas Sparks and now a major motion picture. This is a heart-warming romantic film that tells the story of Noah and Allie, both with a different social status separated by conflicts. Noah is haunted by images of the beautiful girl he met fourteen years earlier, a girl he loved like no other. Unable to find her, yet unwilling to forget the summer they spent together, Noah is content to live with only memories. . . until she unexpectedly returns to his town to see him once again. Allie Nelson, twenty-nine, is now engaged to another man, but realizes that the original passion she felt for Noah has not dimmed with the passage of time.

.) Titanic (1997)- I think this is one of my favorite romantic films of all time. I've seen this movie since I was seven and ironically, I watched this with my parents. Besides, Leonardo DiCaprio as "Jack Dawson" was my first fictional Crush. I wouldn't waste a time to tell the plot of this movie anymore because I know everyone has an idea about it. But all I wanna I say is that, no matter how many times I've seen this movie, for me, it will always be included to some of the best romantic films ever made.

.) Before Sunrise (1995)- An American and a Frenchwoman meet on a train and spend a romantic day and night in Vienna. They wander the city together, taking in the experiences of Vienna and each other. Unfortunately, both know that this will probably be their only night together. This is also one of my favorite. I admire the ideas and thoughts delivered by the characters throughout this film. It speaks to my emotions.

.) 10 things I hate about you (1999)- Bianca Stratford is pretty and popular, but her strict family won't allow her to date until her older sister does: the problem is that sister Katharina is an outsider who tries to alienate any boy who might be interested in her. Bianca's desperation for romance turns into a convoluted scheme to match Kat with her male equivalent, a guy whose reputation is so infamous.

.) 13 going on 30 (2004)- What would you do if magically one day, you transformed into your adult self? This story is about an uncool girl magically transformed into a successful adult after making a wish at her disastrous birthday party. Now, this grown woman must create some magic of her own to help the little girl inside find the true love she left behind.

.) Sex & the City (2008)- An American romantic comedy film that tackles about love & friendship. Funny how At first I thought this was an adult movie because of its title. Carrie Bradshaw, a New York writer on sex and love is finally getting married to her Mr. Big. But her three best girlfriends must console her after one of them inadvertently leads Mr. Big to jilt her.

.) Enchanted - One of my favorite movie since childhood and the music are one of the soundtrack of my personality in 2007. A story of the adventures of a banished princess from a fairy-tale world lands with lots of music & magic and a "happily ever after." Also, one of my comfort movies.
