I've been to Binondo many times, but it was my first time to see a cafe in Benavidez Street at Binondo, Manila. I'm so glad to discover this newly opened cafe as it seems rare to have aesthetic cafe around Binondo and it's walking distance away from our school. Before we visit the cafe, we went to a Chinese restaurant because my friend introduced us to oyster cake.
This is different from any other oyster cake I've tried because it's not the typical oyster cake made out of tapioca starch that is chewy. This oyster cake is crunchy and the mixture of fine sliced scallions, shucked oysters and bean sprouts makes it tastier. It goes well with the provided sweet and chili sauce. After that, we visited the Apologue Cafe in Benavidez Street. My friend tried their coffee latte and a slice of lemon cake. I tried their Horchata. Which is one of their best seller as well as the Spanish Matcha Latte. Their prices are also affordable and reasonable specially for students like me.
The cafe blends well along the streets of old chinatown and it is perfectly hidden in plain sight which makes it less occupied during weekdays.
The ambience of the place feels aesthetically pleasing and it's quiet around the area, which makes it an ideal place to stay for study sessions or chikahan.
